Al and The Transamericans

Started as a side project by Schnier in January 1999, playing three shows, with their first show being at the Pontiac Grill in Philadelphia, PA. The first incarnation of the band featured Schnier on guitar and vocals, Ted Marotta of Ominous Seapods on drums, Jim Loughlin of moe. on bass and vocals, Kirk Juhas of freebeer&chicken on keyboards, banjo and vocals, and Rolf Witt of the Danksters and Sonic Garden on mandolin, fiddle, and guitar.

Wow – here it is a few short weeks until Nelson Ledges Quarry Park 4th of July Weekend featuring the rebirth of RHYTHM FEST! You might ask, “What about Grateful Fest?” Don’t worry, this year these are two separate events. Grateful Fest is going to be on Labor Day weekend this year, with all the usual fixins’!

Prior to moe.'s headlining performance at the Highline Ballroom on June 16th, the band will perform an intimate 30-minute acoustic set at the Highline for 100 fans, as a benefit for the voter registration organization HeadCount.
